THE VALIDITY OF A SHORT TERM MONTESSORI OR NURSERY PROGRAM

SHORT TERM NURSERY / MONTESSORI COURSE
 - ARE WE ELIGIBLE BY A SHORT TERM PROGRAM?

Planning on becoming a Preschool Teacher? A lot of Teacher Training Institutes offer courses with three month duration. Do you think the certification is valid? Then again is that trainer eligible to manage a class of Preschoolers?
Why does a teacher opt for a short term course? Let us look into the details:
·         for Accelerated Designation / Promotion
·         for Increased Salary Structure
·         for Certification
·         for Social Pride and Network

Do we ever understand that the certificate which we might take within three months may not be valid? Yes, we do get a paper stamped as certified, but is it Government of India approved?
Sometimes the student bears the brunt of an unqualified teacher. I prefer to call them unqualified, since they do not have the required knowledge that needs to be enhanced to deal with a Preschooler. Any study, which is research-based and is strong in the foundation level needs time and environment to reflect in order to be proactive. If we feel that Education sector is our love for the lifetime, we should also become aware that we have a great responsibility which needs to be dealt with in order to become an all-round guide to Preschool children. For, it is in the age group of 0-6 years that the various Developmental Milestones are established.
However, the crux of it all is the Salary Remittance. We seem to neglect the Pre-Primary teachers stating that they don't teach much and they are made to understand that their placement is lowest in the pyramid of an Institution. What the general misconception remains is that higher the standard (I, II or X), higher the contribution. Let's make one thing clear - for a teacher, it's not considered as a Promotion. Let this not be a reason for hurried & short certification. LET US STRIVE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW - THINK BEFORE WE SELECT.
